SUPER CUB SATURDAY! We're really excited to unveil a new Koll model at NAMM 2018: the Super Cub! Inspired partly by '60s American guitars we love, like the Epiphone Wilshire or Harmony Bobkat or Melody Maker... the Super Cub has some aesthetic DNA from those guitars, mashed up with Saul's classic Glide shape and a new six-on-a-side headstock design. The body is thinner than our other solidbodies, and the body edge is softer. Bottom line: we wanted a thin, light guitar that's just plain fun to play. We're anxious to hear what you think.
We brought three prototypes to the NAMM Show, this is still an experimental model so we're playing with different body woods and pickup/bridge combos. These have alder or mahogany bodies, and maple or mahogany necks. Novak Gold Foils, Arcane Mini-hums, Schroeder wraps, Mastery trems, Bigsby's, you name it. We've gotten a lot of great feedback on these here at the show. Super Cubs will start in the low $3K range at retail. We'll be offering these prototypes for sale, and building a bunch more right after NAMM that will be available through our dealer network and on our site. Get ready for a lot more variations of Super Cubs!
UPDATE: We're currently working on a production batch of 10 Super Cubs that will be available direct and through our dealer network. If you're interested in being on the waitlist for one of those guitars, please the contact form (scroll down) and let us know.
